Planetside Arena is a match-based sequel with support for 1,000 players per match, battle royale

Planetside Arena has been revealed as the next game in the series, a fusion of classic Planetside mechanics, and the more traditional match-based structure.

Daybreak Games has today announced Planetside Arena as a premium game, coming to PC on January 29. Unlike what you might imagine from reading the name, Planetside Arena is not a small-scale arena shooter.
The game retains Planetside’s signature scale and combined arms combat, with a few twists. This is a match-based game capable of supporting up to 1,000 players per session, though Daybreak is doing away with the tug of war/metagame systems in Planetside 2.
At launch, three game modes will be available: Massive Clash, and two battle royale variants...

Witchfire was one of the surprise reveals at the 2017 Game Awards.

This gothic, old-school shooter definitely turned heads at the show, but we’ve heard barely anything about it in the year since. Witchfire developer The Astronauts decided to break its silence, and assure everyone that the game is still being made.
In a new blog post, the studio said that with a team of just eight developers, you should expect progress to be slow. But it recognises fans want to know more, and it’s kicking off a series of regular dev updates.
In the first one, The Astronauts revealed a little bit about the game’s world. We’ll be playing as a hand of the church in 15th century Europe, on the hunt for witches...

By Sherif Saed,
Tuesday, 11 December 2018 10:47 GMT

As promised, Ubisoft ran a Beyond Good & Evil 2 livestream to give everyone an updated look at gameplay.

The show focused mainly on showcasing Beyond Good & Evil 2 pre-alpha gameplay. More specifically, it’s a rerun of the E3 2018 demo, which had been shown to press behind closed doors.
The game does look to still be early in development, with many unfinished assets and much animations and mechanics missing. That said, the footage shows a lot of promise, and what you’re about to see is certainly much more focused than previous reveals.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 also appears much grander in scale than the original game. We get to see exploration in space, melee combat, and surface travelling...

Counter Strike: Global Offensive players think they’ve found a Portal-related ARG in the game.

YouTuber Valve News Network has gathered together a bunch of in-game clues that point to the possibility of another ARG that could be leading up to the reveal of a new title – via PCGamesN.
The first clue comes from the boarded up Room 3 in the newly rolled out Danger Zone’s Blacksite map. YouTuber snaileny accessed the room via a secret passage and found a handful of computers inside, emitting a code.
Redditors assembled to decode the message and discovered that it translated to the first line of Portal’s ending song, Still Alive; “This was a triumph, I’m making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.”
